"ABS INOP" light is on
The brake lights are on the same curcuit with the abs.
Also, check the wires going to the brake light switch under the dash.Had mine replaced by a mechanic, too hard for me to fix.Sometimes the wires come loose. If all else fails, put some black electrical tape over the dash abs light so It can't be seen.Hope this helps somebody.

I've had the ABS INOP light go on for three different reasons in the last few years.
Burnt out break light, real easy to find and fix.
Dirty/loose connections for the sensors. Just unplug the sensors and clean. Dont forget to put them back....yeah, I forgot one once....
This was the tough one:
After installing the headers, the light would come one every once in a while when I turned or braked. It was a wireing harnes on the passanger side front wheel well that had some slack in it and would touch one of the primaries. When it would hit, it would cause enough interference to set the light off. That one took forever to find. When the car wasn't moving (leaning from braking or turning) it wasn't making any contact, so everything looked fine. I just used a tie down to remove the slack up near the computer, and problem solved. No light for about six months now.
