A4 question

I just replaced heads on my car and for at least the past few days I had the front end of my car up to do the wires/exhaust ect. Noticed fluid on the ground, assumed it was oil or PS fluid. Finally got the car running and noticed that the transmission was slipping. Checked the fluid and it was bone dry almost. I put about 3 quarts into it and it is back to the normal level. Anyone ever had any issues with tranny fluid leaking if the car was jacked up? I didnt touch the transmission or anything around it while doing the install and its never had a problem leaking or slipping before. The car has 130k on it, but the transmission was replaced around 75-80k. Also even now that the fluid is back to normal it still seems to slip a little. Thanks for the help.

I could be wrong, but I believe there is a weep hole on the transmission that prevents the transmission from being over filled. I'm not sure what angle it needs to be at for fluid to come out of it. I'de imagine it is pretty steep.

If you are leaking that much fluid, it should be noticable somewhere. Check all your tranny cooler lines and the tranny tailshaft for starters.

Mine slipped at WOT after it sat for a year. Fluid was low, so I filled it to correct level and still slipped. Put in some Slick 50 Transmission Treatment and it's good to go. That stuff is so thick it took 10 minutes to pour it in. But it worked.
