A4 to M6 conversion codes

What codes did you guys get after doing the conversion?

I used free scan to read my codes since I have a SES light flashing
The only code that showed up is DTC 84

I have loaded a 6speed program and the car runs and drives great.

I would think that anyone who has done the conversion should get the same codes so what codes did you get and how did you fix them?

Thanks
Tom

I just fired mine up for the first time today. I got no SES lights. According to my Haynes manual, DTC 84 means Automatic Transmission 3-2 Control Solenoid Circuit.

Bet you didn't want to hear that!

Good luck tracking down the problem. If I had even a foggy idea of where to start, I'd offer it.

From my Haynes manual.

DTC-84 - Skip shift solenoid circuit.

I'm assuming you didn't connect up the CAGS? Have you programmed CAGS out of the PCM? If not you'll need to or hook it up and use one of the CAGS eliminators to disable it.

Good catch Mystic.

If I'd looked a little closer, I'd have seen it too. Unfortunately I seem to have trouble seeing things lately.

I guess that also explains why I didn't get a code. I programmed out CAGS.

Ok,

I know that code is cags but my 93 trans didn't have that connector.
Also I'm using LT1 edit and there are only about 5 codes available to delete and that is not one of them.

How did you program that out of it? I read that you can raise the temp that it is activated to 260 to disable it.

Is that the only code you guys have gotten?

Thanks
Tom

Yup, 93 didn't have CAGS... I've heard disabling it that way too. Not sure if that will kill the DTC though. If you clear the DTC on the PCM and start the car back up does the DTC come back as soon as you start it or does it come back when driving and it would have tried to enable the skip shift noid?

I haven't got the update yet, but the new version of LT1edit has something for specifically shutting off CAGS.

I received a email today from the guys at LT1 edit and they tell me they do not have anything in the program to disable DTC 84.

Do you guys think the best way to get rid of it is to wire up the CAGS to the CAGS delete plug?

Thanks
