A4 guys with 4.10s

How does the car drive with those low gears in the back. This is one of my summer projects and i am debating over 3.73s or 4.10s. i don't drive the car much on the highway but every know and then i may take a trip with the car. i was just wondering what you cruise at the car doesn't go over 70mph now, because it loud with the cut out and i dont want to draw anymore attention to myself. if anyone has suggestions on helping me make my decision i'd appreciate it. thanks

i am in the same situation. i will prolly be going with 3.73s. it was a easy choice for me because i drive 45 min. to/from work everyday. a 4.10 car can DEFINATLY still be a good street car, no question. it's just not the best choice if you do alot of highway driving or like taking long trips with your beast.

also, if you plan on any type of power adder, 3.73s will work better. if you're going NA, the 4.10s might help a tad more.

You should use a 12-bolt rear with 4.10 IMO, many people have blown apart their rears with 4.10s. I went with 3.73s because I need to drive a long distance every now and then.

Get the 4.10s,you will notice a very big SOTP feel with them and even if you drive on the highway it won't be that bad with a overdrive and they will hold up fine with a auto, just be sure to buy a quality gear set and have them installed properly and remember than there is a break in period of about 500 miles. Many peaple say that there is no break in needed but i know that there is,just take it easy on them for about the first 500 miles and they will work fine.

I run 4:10s in my 95 Z with 4L60E and have had no problems with them. I turn 3000rpm on the highway at 65mph on a 26" tire. I like this because my cam really comes to life at 3000. I run my car every weekend at the track and have had no problems. Car runs consistent 12:0s @113-114mph.

i have to say the 4.10's are awesome, but if i had the choice i'd probably go with the 3.73's. i've actually been thinking of switching from the 4.10's. they really do feel great, but if you like cruising at 90, there's just no way. top cruising speed is probably about 65-70. mine is somewhere around 3000 rpm's at 70.

I'm running alot less than 3000 RPM's at 60 MPH with 26" tires @ 60 MPH. As for performance? My STOCK motored car runs 12.82 with the 4.10's. I cross the finish line, in 3rd gear @ 5800 RPMs.
I'm extremely happy about the fact that I didn't go with the 3.73's.
