Yeah me too i ditched the 987-16 and went with some 977-16 springs havent assembled it yet though

check out the 26918 springs. they have decent pressures and don't require the open pressure to maintain control because of the lighter weight. I have a set on AFR195's and a .600" cam, street driven LT1 that revs fine to 7000. Ask CC for the correct retainer, the LS1 retainer commonly advertised won't work on 11/32 SBC valves. they have a nice Ti retainer, don't remember the PN.

Yeah, the 977's would work with the same parts you have, but the beehives (26918's) will work much better.

hey Stroker so you say the 918 beehives are better than the 977 for what reason being lighter???

Yes being lighter, having a lighter retainer and having a lot less change of having a resonance frequency problem.

Well when is it to much open spring pressure and the HYD lifters start to collapse

850's are stock replacements so 550lbs ish is ok. I've run more but they don't like it as well.

FWIW you get the lbs on the lifter by figuring out you max pressure open then multipling that by the rocker ratio.
