Well i have researched this quite extensively myself. I can tell you this much. If you are swapping tranny's you will need a modified cross member. If you use the lt1 style six speed the stock drive shaft is supposed to bolt right up. The Actual engine should bolt up. However you may have to fab some motor mounts. In my opinion the absolute hardest thing would be the wiring. Grab yourself an aftermarket wiring harness like the one from painless performance and you should be golden.

Shoot me a message on aol if you want.

Why grab a new wiring harness, The painless harnesses are far from painless and still require splicing. If your really after a plug and play harness, go www.speartech.com they will custom make yours to length and you'll still end up with more money than you woudl if you go through painless, and it will be 100% plug in. A

fter looking back now, its not hard at all. The hardest part by far is just getting everything you need. Motor mounts do not need to be worked up, you can use any thirdgen V8 motor mounts and as far as the clamshells you need v8 thirdgen clamshells or you can get them off a silverado. The crossmember needs to be pounded back if you want to keep AC. Its all pretty easy work. Knowing what to do is half the battle and after going through this myself, I bet I could do everything within one week given I have all the right parts on hand.

Its funny that you mention this. Because GM High Tech Performance is doing a project like this right now.

So grab the latest issue on the stands now. And the backordered issue from the last issue.
