Question 97 lt1 car ?

i have a 97 lt1 firebird for about 2 months now the car has been runing like crap what it is doing is it feels like it is miss firing so i changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, and it is still doing it does any body have any ideas thanks

I don't think it's possible to say the words "LT1" and "running crappy" in the same sentence without mentioning the opti-spark! Definitely a possibility.

thats kind of a vague description! care to elaborate a little bit more on exactly what and when and how it is doing it?

If its misfiring, you should be getting a flashing SES light. Have you ever had it scanned? They can pull up the misfire count by cylinder, which may point you in the correct direction.

1) Get it scanned for any codes
2) Double check to make sure you have the wires going to the proper plugs
3) start thinking about changing the opti

Since you just changed the filter which rules that out, I'd say fuel pump or opti.

Its getting into the winter months...It is possible that you have bad fuel in your car. That can cause it to act up. Have no power, miss and other problems.

If you think you could have water in your fuel. I believe "Heat" will take care of it. Just something to look at.
