this is a check valve that controls the HVAC panel. It is located inside the engine bay next to the heater box...has 3 vacuum lines going to it.

WoW that underbody is super clean for how many miles are on it... no rust whatsoever! I wish mine was as clean as that so i didnt have to do floors and what not. One day ill grab a nice roller to eventually swap all my stuff over too.

Shoebox has a vacuum diagram for the HVAC panel:

You don't. The bleed screws are only opened when you fill the system.

Proper drain/fill procedure

Your car looks great. The leather is in great shape - is it original? Amazing that all of your A/C needed replacing.

I've had mine since Aug 1994 and other than some minor paint issues, just the headliner is only problem I have currently. Material is starting to droop on the liner. I gotta get that fixed.
The bleeder screws are at a high point in the system. So it is recommended to crack to open when engine is running to bleed off the air that gets trapped in that high point. The reverse cooling makes it hard for the trapped air in this high point to escape. One little air pocket can create a hot spot. Which is not good. Beside you think GM would put it there if it wasn't necessary. But it was necessary. So it should be bleed off everytime anytime coolant is changed or added..

Re: '95 Z28 restoration

I bought a used A/C control panel off ebay that should be arriving any day now. At some point I'll put the proper "appearance" back on the car if the panel I bought is in good shape.
