Exclamation 95 z28 overheating

Okay so the car (95 z28) was leaking coolant, and we replaced the waterpmp, thermostat, and I also had to put a new radiator in it. Now theres no leaks, but the car is overheating really quickly. After putting the air intake assembly back on, now the fans won't turn on, but if you unplug the cord going to the mass air flow sensor, the fans work fine. We have put the old thermostat back in to see if that worked, a new temp sensor, and it it is still overheating even with the fans on. I am clueless on what it could be. Any ideas?

Could be air in the system. Did you bleed it until nothing but coolant came out of the screws?

I know this probably sounds dumb as hell, but I just bought this car 2 weeks ago. I was messing with the screw, but i'm not sure if I am using it properly.

Okayso with the engine running, the bolt needs to be removed and the heat needs to be on, and it needs to run until coolant is flowing out of the hole?

Read the refill portion of this info. Bleed screws only need to be cracked open to allow air to escape and to be able to close them quickly. You can easily lose them if take out.

Re: 95 z28 overheating

Well we completely took it out (carefully), bleed the system, and that was definately the issue. No more overheating, and runs great. Got to drive it for the first real time today. These things are monsters.

Re: 95 z28 overheating

The bleeder screws are designed to correctly bleed the system without removing them. Listen to Shoebox.
