I'm unsure of the cause. But when I changed my plugs, and fuel filter it went away.

It started doing it again slightly today. Well have to wait for others to chime In on the exact cause.

Could be a problem with the o/p sensor. Installing a mechanical gauge to verify pressure would help determine.

Re: 95 z28 oil pressure drops

Or there could be nothing wrong at all. The gauge isn't very accuate to begin with....

I asked about the check gauges light as it's supposed to illuminate when the oil pressure is below 6 psi.

I would first remove the plug from the sensor and see what the reading is...it should read gauge maximum. Then ground out the sensor and it should read zero. If this checks out you can assume the wiring is fine. Then attach the manual gauge as Rob suggests. There is a plug in the side of the block just above the oil filter that is a convenient place to attach the gauge.

WHen did you last change the oil and what weight did you use?

When its warmed up, at what RPM does the pressure drop to "0"..... at idle?

What is the pressure at 2,000RPM?

It's the gauge or sender I put manual gauge on and at 800 rpms it's at 25 psi and at like 5000 it's at 60
