95 z28 LT1 advice???
95 z28 LT1 advice???
i found a 95 z28 with a LT1 obviously with 112672miles i'm considering buying it for about 2200 and starting off with a simple tune up. i'm not too familiar with mfi engines since all i've owned has been 3rd gen camaros with TBI engines. where should i start not with mods yet but just to make it better running and a longer lasting engine??? does anyone think this would be a decent camaro for that price?? i enjoy a project so whatever i have to repair is no real prob as long as its not another tranny. speaking of which how often would a trans need to be rebuilt for an engine like this??? any feedback would help
that doesn't sound too bad for the price and mileage. What you're gonna hear from just about everyone is replace the opti, water pump, and a couple other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. there's a lot of good tunes out there just gotta know where to look. I don't have an LT1 myself but I frequent this board for learning purposes. I love learning about motors.
well i test drove it today and it shifts nice but the traction control is stuck on. some ignorant ******* decided to install an aftermarket cd player and either ripped the clip out or used the wires for the power to the headunit. anyone know where this clip might be floatin around if it was just disconnected i cant find it when i ripped the dash apart lookin for it. should i just find a new clip and splice it to wherever its supposed to run to??
check inside the hole where the radio sits. might be in there. otherwise you should just look for a new clip. look up wiring diagrams and find out where it's supposed to go though before you start splicing wires. That's just a case of someone who either doesn't know or doesn't care what the hell they're doing.
i'm not an electrician but my 89 was screwed as far as wiring went so i just hardwired most of it just to get it to work half *** for the time being and did it right l8er when i had the money to get a new harness. yeah i ripped out the dash and the shift console and couldnt find it is there any other way to disengage the traction control without that????
I honestly don't know for sure to be honest with you. I've never had a camaro with traction control. I somehow doubt it though unless you can figure out which wires are associated with the on/off switch.
