Went out yesterday to mess with the car. I soldered in a new connector to replace the c230 connector. Buttoned up all wiring under both sides of the dash. Went to drive the car. Took a few seconds to turn over started and sounded good! Ran for about 5 seconds and started to drop rpms did that for a few seconds and died. I went to reseat the optispark connector and the top of the connector broke. I had already ordered another which will be here on Wednesday. My only thoughts now are if the connector doesn't fix it. It's either the discolored pin on the optispark side that I cannot get to since there is no room or the opti is just on its way out after around 10 thousand miles.
If it's original GM and has the Mitsubishi Opti in it then I would just put a new cap and rotor clean it up and you're good to go.
I have 180,000 on mine and only rebuilt it once.

It's definitely not the original but was changed around 2010 by a local performance shop that specializes in fbodies I am unsure the brand but I would assume a delphi. Like I said it only has like 10k on the optispark itself. I'd just hate to change the cap and rotor and it not fix the issue and have to go back in to change the whole thing. And with getting the random 36 code sometimes wouldn't that make you think it was the opti?

Got the new opti cable today installed it and no difference. The car still does not run, it will sometimes start and barely run for a few seconds before dying. I have included the 2 runs that the car did tonight. I cleared the 36 code after the first run, it came right back on with the 2nd run. I do not know where to go from here other than trying another optispark.

Did more troubleshooting today. Confirmed opti 4 wires are what they should be again. And the icm. I have spark at the coil. I don't have spark at any of the plugs now. The fuel pump cycling thing started back up again and I recorded a video of it.
I tried to wiggle wires here and there with no luck tracking down what's doing it. I also confirmed the ignition 12v to the pcm that runs though c230 is good still after changing the connector.

Hopefully this weekend i can get the opti out and see what i find inside. I have access to an oscilloscope so maybe i can verify that the emitter disc and sensor are good. Then hopefully i find something obvious with the high voltage side.
The priming issue i am just going to ignore that at the moment and see what happens with the opti

Tore it down today and go to the opti. Cap points were pretty chewed up. Rotor was secure and had some corrosion on the end. Replaced both and cleaned the sensor and disc. Installed the opti kept everything else off just to test it. Connected all sensors and the car still does not start.. Does the same exact thing. Great spark at coil. I have spark at the plugs now (thinking back I may have checked for the spark at the plugs backwards last time) cranks for awhile then it might try to start and stumble. I'm not sure to go now. Dont know if I should leave it apart. Very frustrating.

What brand of cap and rotor did you replace it with.

your better off cleaning the Mitsubishi sensor with 99% isopropyl alcohol and reusing it.
