95 Trans Am 1/4 mile times

A friend of mine let me race there 95 trans am tonite. Ran a consistant 14.6 at 97MPH. Is this a normal time for this car? It has no mods whatsoever and had some awful tires on it. I feel I could have picked up another .10th with traction. I also laid down a RT of .7 so I feel I did what I could with this beast. O' also, it's an auto.

What was the sixty and eighth mile times?

97mph is alright, it shows you were spinning hard with that 14.6 et, the crap tires had a huge part to do with it.

In the eight when I was cuting 2.25 sixtys on bad tires, I was still able run 9.1@78mph.

looks alright for some bad tires. maybe a bit slow but it could be conditions or the car might need a tuneup.

In good tune, with good racing conditions it should run 13.9 or quicker. I've owned two 95s now and both have run 13.9 or better. I bought a 95TA new, with 2.73/A4 and RSAs and in bone stock trim it ran 13.94 at 98.8. My 95 Formula with 3.23/A4, and just better tires, ran 13.89 at 98.2 in stock trim. And I believe my current car will run 13.79 or better now that I've fixed a few issues (vacuum leak, o2 sensors)

I think 97 mph is quite reasonable and is right in line with 90% of stock LT1s I've seen here in Central Florida. Sure, someone could say that even my car 'needs a tune up' but my engine has 8,000 miles on it. Everything under my hood is new. Wires, plugs, coil, opti, and *engine*. New fuel filter, cleaned injectors, new cats, everything. There is nothing that needs 'tuning up'. It has as much to do with weather as it has to do with anything else in my opinion. Hot humid Florida weather got me a 97.5mph trap speed stock. Cold weather and a Y pipe got me 99mph.

It had to have been 40 degrees lastnite. The track was so could I figured without some hot *** slicks it would have been damn near impossible to hook, so I wasn't going to sweat it. Sorry guys, I also had a passanger and she left the car full of cd's and stuff. I know that car has to run at least a 14.0. Her bro's 97 GPT was running 2 .10ths quicker than us and I was pissed. O well. I laid down 3 consistnt runs with an over weighted car at 14.6 at 97mph. Also. My 1/8th mile time was 12.309.

that sounds like a normal time for some areas. Alot of it depends on the temperature, elevation, and humidity that day. The higher elevation will slow the car down some.

My best so far, was 14.592 @ 97.2 STOCK. I had a K&N air filter (stock air box) and all the stereo equipment you see on my cardomain page in the car, as well as a child seat.
