95 misfire/no power

Okay, replaced motor, new wires, plugs and opti, cleaned and tested injectors, replaced FPR , filter and fuel pump, have 44 psi... car idles okay, feels like it has a lite miss, but as soon as i put it in gear it starts missing rally bad, if i try to drive it, it acts like it's out of time, no power, valves rattling popping out exhaust... I'm about ready for the match and gasoline test......

Re: 95 misfire/no power

Start with the basics - connectors to all sensors, firing order, get it on the scanner if you have one and see what does/doesn't check in. A 95 is harder to screw up the opti, but it can be put on wrong - some here have done it. Valve adjustments all out of whack - vacuum leaks... Agree it sounds out of time related, but check the easy stuff first.

See if it runs better if you unplug the MAF sensor.

Re: 95 misfire/no power

I'll go for either plug wires mis-routed or opti not indexed correctly.

Re: 95 misfire/no power

I had an issue with a brand new opti once where it wouldn't seat completely against the block. There was MAYBE 1-3 millimeters of space so I thought it was no big deal. It ran horribly and when I took the opti back off, I saw the rotor was grinding into the cap. Just another possibility.

Also I didn't see you mention coil or ICM in your replaced parts list. But I would check plug wire routing first then unplug the MAF (since it's easy).

93-95 all use the same knock sensor. Should have roughly 4,000 ohm resistance.

Does the fuel pressure hold up where it should be when you start driving the car?
