I fully understand, read my edit above. It really is a straight up swap, just leave the MAF off. Good Luck!

definitely....just have madwolf burn you a chip to compensate, and you'll be good. A lot of 93 guys like to throw in bigger injectors and reprogram, you should maybe do a post on that to get some more good info.

Dave,
I think you're only confusing him. He could use the 95 PCM with the 95 engine, but if he doesn't use the MAF, his fans will run all the time due to the service engine light. Yea, I understand this is the cheap way to do it, but not necessarily the right way to do it.
If I were him, I'd swap in the 95 with the MAF and PCM and then he won't need to do anything to the programming. He might have some VATS issues if he doesn't do the wiring right, but that's another problem.

Also, saying that a speed density car will run better than a MAF car isn't accurate. If tuned properly, the MAF car should run at least as well as the speed density car.

I am only suggesting he use the 95 pcm with the MAF unplugged to give him an idea of what the 93 computer will run like. When the MAF is unplugged the computer switches to speed density mode, does it not? I'm not in any way trying to argue with a computer guy, because I will lose by a long shot. But if he uses a 95 engine, 93 wiring harness, 93 computer and no MAF, he will acheive his goals. A little programming from you can utilize the bigger injectors and he should be happy....no?!?

Yes, the car will switch to speed density mode if the MAF is removed, but it will set a service engine light and the fans will run all the time.
The reason I suggested going with the all 95 setup is because it's more practical. (programming/monitoring reasons)

I'll be swapping a 94-95 engine this coming week into a 93, but I'll keep the 93 computer. Not because I couldn't swap to a 95, but because I want to develop a 93 to 94-95 plug and play PCM conversion kit.

I'll let you use both the cars to test the plug in play on for free.

nothings illegal until you get caught, swapping the rear ends make more sense than swapping the motor and easier

ding ding ding, I totally agree....You should get the car scanned and see what kinda codes it throws, ironically enough maybe its MAF related...just kidding, but it could be a small easy fix....
