Re: '95 LT1 P code engine not getting fuel

FIXED....

Since all signs pointed to the injectors, I went around to each injector and tapped on the body with a wrench, then tried starting it and it fired right up. I'll put a little injector cleaner in the gas next and let it run a while..

That's unbelievable that all injectors were stuck closed. How does that even happen?

Stale ethanol blended gasoline can wreak havoc on injectors. They may need to be professionally cleaned.

I buy non ethanol gas, but I didn't know ethanol can cause issues with fuel injected cars. I've heard it's bad on carburetors. I always wondered if it was worth the extra money. Thanks

The problem occurs because the ethanol absorbs water. When it absorbs enough water, it goes bad, and separates into a layer of water at the bottom of the tank. On top of that is a corrosive layer of ethanol/water mix, and finally a layer of reduced octane gasoline.

This is an article that appears to accurately describe the problems.

Great article. I always knew you got better MPG. I assumed I would get better track times using non ethanol. Does anyone know if this is true?
