95 LT1 Engine/Cam and Tune

I have an New LT1 crate engine. I'm wanting to install a Cam. I have heard and been told that because of tuning, that I can't do much as far as a Cam because the LT1 can not be tune. Just how much of a Cam can I go with the stock engine? I'm not looking to make this a racer, just want to have a good sounding lope with some extra power. I know I could do work with the heads to get the power. And sure I could do alot more to the engine, like Supercharger, but then again I would just build a whole new engine if thats what I wanted to do. Maybe someday. But for now I just need to know about a Cam setup and if I can tune this car with it, just how far can I go with stock? Thanks

The LT1 PCM can be tuned very easily. Who told you it couldn't be?

There are people here running cams like the CC306 on a stock LT1 with a tuned LT1 PCM. Pick a cam, get it tuned, and don't worry about it.

Thanks Injuneer, I just called a shop around here and this guy was telling me about the tuning problems. Forget him. I have researched a few things by now. I was looking at the LLoyd Elliott Portswork.com, different heads and cam systems. They have a LE2 Heads and Cam package. Just shoping around for now. but any good advice on any other Heads or Cam package would be appreciated. Thanks,

That LE2 package is a great choice. Well known and proven.

if you cant get a dyno tune you can buy logging software and send info back and forth with a tuner and should be able to get things spot on. Dont worrry about tuning if you are going with a le2 setup. Things will be fine.
