Need help. dropping a 95 LT1 in a 97. OBD questions

Hey guys, need your tech info. I picked up a 95LT1 this week, complete intake to oil pan. Im dropping it into my 97 Z28. I know there are certain things I need to change over but not 100%. I still have the 97 wiring harness and ECM in the car, and have the old parts from my 97 engine. What do I need to swap over to the 95 to make it work? Someone told me the timing cover also, but Im not sure. The engine has all 95 parts. Opti, timing cover etc. Im hearing the knock sensor, crank sensor, and timing cover. I want to get the engine in this weekend, so please let me know what I need to change. Thanks guys. Im staying OBD2.

I'd change to the '95 pcm just because '95 was the best year for tuning, OBD2 LT1's have no advantage over the 94-95 ODB1.

I have all the OBD11 stuff still off my old motor, plus I have the wiring harness and ECM still in the car. PLUS I have LT1 Edit for my 97 which was almost 500 bucks lol. I had no problems tuning my 97 and would rather keep as much a 97 as possible. Im pretty sure I only have to change the knock sensor and crankshaft sensor which I still have. I also have my original timing cover too, just in case I need it.

OPTI's are the same but you'll need to change the timing cover to keep the crank sensor. The knock sensor is different so you'll have to swap that. I'd also check out the EGR system, it might be different as well...

Someone in another thread was saying the ICMs are different. Not sure about that, but figured i'd chime in. You will need to use the 97 timing cover if you want to keep the OBD2 PCM. While the holes are the same size as the 95, only the 96-97 covers have the bosses for the camshaft position sensor.

Keep OBD2 for inspection purposes as well since that's what your car came with. The coil will be different, different KS, add the crank sensor. ICM should work I think. Opti plug should be the same as well if you have a vented.

I put a 95' engine in a 96'
I used
96' Harness
96' Coil

95' PCM
95' Knock sensor

Im not sure if theres anything else off the top of my head but I hope it helps
