NO! Myself and a friend have combined over 220,000 miles on '95 heads in blower applications with no signs of head damage. I believe the 93 - 95 castings were slightly thicker than the 96-97 castings.

The 95 heads are no more proned to cracking that any other year aluminum LT1 heads. Other than some in 96 & 97, they were all the same casting if Im not mistaken.

I ran my car for 25 minutes with no coolant!! My heads warped, but they did not crack.

96-97 castings are slighlty thinner. I talked with Lloyd about it and he said you just can't port as much on those heads as you can 92-95 castings.TPIS won't even accept them for an exchange if you were to do the ported heads thru them.

I'm not sure about that but I have heard a lot of 95's blow head gaskets.
Mine did. They also found a head cracked when they did mine but it wasn't the head that blew the gasket.

Will 95 heads fit on a 97 LT1. Also will you have to buy anything header wise different when swapping to 95 heads on a 97 LT1.

Thanks for the info.

They will bolt right up and nothing should be different as far as headers.

I agree. However, that is implying that the deck thickness of the head, is thinner as well. Afterall, that is the area of the head, that is pertinent to this thread, not the wall thickness of the ports.
