95 Camaro Lt1 Oil Filter Problem ? ? ?
I Have A 95 Camaro Lt1 6 Speed I Just Bought Last Week. I Decided To Do A Tune-up On The Car Since There Was Signs Of Neglect To The Motor. Anyways When Changing The Oil, Not To Mention It Was Black And Syrupy As It Could Ever Be. The Oil Filter Was Bent, I Could Not Get The Oil Strap Wrench To Work, So As A Last Resort I Stuck A Screwdriver Through The Filter Hoping To Simply Twist It Off. No Such Luck, I Ripped The Whole Canister Off! So Then I Tried To Stick A Screwdriver In One Of The Drain Holes, And That Dident Work. Heat, Dident Do The Trick, I'm At A Loss, Any Suggestions Would Be Highly Appreicated!

People put the damn things on way too tight.
If you have it tore up that bad can you just tear the rest of it off?
I am trying to imagine what is left stuck to the motor. Can you get a picture?

Helpful hint for ihateimports06.... turn the "caps lock" key off. That is why the system is capitalizing the first letter of each word. Hard to read....

I second the hammer thing.
Yours is a 95 so you probably have the factory oil cooler on there. I was going to say just to remove it but the nut holding it on is underneath the filter....

I've got a '95- no oil cooler. I went to an external cooler on my transmission, so I was thinking about putting a sandwich adapter on the block, and using the trans cooler lines in the radiator (if I get really bored).

jk man, i would say go with the channel locks and with a little muscle you should be able to break it free.
