'94 Z having problems
Alright, just got my car all back together after a new opti, wires and alternator about three weeks ago. New problem now.
On a VERY rainy night driving home on the highway, i noticed the car was shaking a little too much than what i was used to. wasnt anything to get all worked up over though, but i kept a close ear out for anything wrong. when i got off the highway i noticed that it stumbled a little at low speeds on acceleration. it only got worse, and started to buck when i accelerated.
Here's the catch(es)...
volts are fine, not a charging issue. oil pressure is fine, not an internal issue. no loud noises to indicate any large problem. at any speed over ~50 mph, car is fine. there is still a small vibration however.
car did not throw a code until i almost reached my house, and the car almost immediately went back to normal. i wasnt sure if it was good or not, i didnt want to push my luck and drive very far, i just pulled it up to the house and shut it off. it seemed fine when i shut it off, and the service engine light stayed on. i havent pulled the code yet, but i was wondering if anyone had any idea on what it might be.
it sounds to me like a sensor is telling the computer that something is screwy and thats making it screw up. my first thought was that the torque converter might be crapping out, but i stalled it up until the tires turned over and it felt fine. sorry for the long post, but any help would be appreciated, i've been without the car several times in the last couple months, and it SUCKS!

Re: '94 Z having problems
Sounds like the opti got wet, let it dry out and it should be fine.
On the few occasions I drive in the rain if it starts raining hard I pull over and wait it out.
I would pull the code and see what it is but you may just have to reset the PCM.

Re: '94 Z having problems
i hope thats all it is, like i said, i replaced the opti less than a month ago, if i have to go through another one, i will be thouroughly pissed.
i need to figure out what code it was, but at the moment i'll have to wait til tomorrow.
