94 Vette water pump on a 94 Z-28 ??

I bought a new 383 lt1 from a 94 Vette. I notice the water pump is diffrent. The Vette water pump is lacking an outlet on the lower drivers side that my Camaro LT1 water is not lacking. This Vette LT1 is going back into my 94 Z28. Wil I need to swith the Vette water pump out with one designed for a camaro? or do i have some options? The water pump that came with the Vette LT1 that I purchased is basically brand new....so i dont want to purchase another new water pump if i dont have to

On an f-body, that passage is dedicated for the oil cooler/oil cooler bypass hose and is not necessary. What you might have an issue with is the heater hose arrangement on the passenger side. You can make it work, but if you have a good f-body pump I'd just roll with that.

Better yet, use the f-body pump and install an electric water pump.

So Im guess that the Corvettes have a diffrent oil cooling system, or does not require one? I was looking at the shoebox website. They have a oil cooler lines diagram.

Do I need to cap off/plug the radiator where the coolant line came from? Also the oil filter mechanism?

Is there going to be any adverse affects from eliminating the oil cooling system? Throw codes? Increase temp?

Does your 94 have an oil cooler?

As far as I know the Corvette did not have an oil cooler as an option. If you want to keep your oil cooler (if you have one) you will need to use the f-body specific water pump. If you don't have one you can use the Corvette pump and just block off the lower driver side fitting on the radiator. If you have a factory oil cooler and want to get rid of it, (recommended due to reliability and an overall pain in the ***) you can use the Corvette pump OR use the f-body pump and install the oil cooler bypass hose (standard part on every non-oil cooled LT1 f-body).

Hope that clears some stuff up for you.

I want to use the Corvette h2o pump. Its new. Plus removing the hoses will clean things up a bit.

What does the fbody water pump outlet direct to if there is no oil cooler?

To the bottom driver side fitting on the radiator.

Here is a great picture of the different water pump assemblies. Coutesy of Shoebox:

You can run a hose directly from the pipe on the water pump to the small fitting on the radiator to by pass the oil cooler on your car. You can, but don't have to, remove the oil cooler equipment from the oil filter boss. You'll need a standard Chev SB oil filoter adapter that you can find anywhere...
