Better cam for untouched stock heads than gm847?
Better cam for untouched stock heads than gm847?
Ran this a few years ago on a stock-headed lt1 that put down 381rwhp with no tune (Tuned for a cc305). Back then it was the best cam for the job. Is there anything out now that will give better performance on stock heads?
Re: Better cam for untouched stock heads than gm847?
Are you telling me a stock headed stock bottom end car with the GM847 put down 381whp without a tune? Granted dyno numbers are for tuning purposes anyway but that is incredibly difficult to believe. Heads/cam cars put down those numbers - the highest cam-only car I've ever seen has been in the 360whp range, perfectly tuned.
Re: Better cam for untouched stock heads than gm847?
I've been looking at cams and it seems that the 847 wouldn't benefit you much with stock heads. Did you mean the GM846? From my searching you could go with a GM846, CC503 or one of the custom grinds from LE or AI that will perform the best with stock heads. Again, I'm a noob in this area, but I've done alot of research in the past few weeks and this is what I came up with.
