94 lt1 block in 93?????

94 lt1 block in 93?????

just wondering if there any any crazy things that would have to change if i used a 94 formy block in a 93 Z. mainly with the computer and some of the connections. thomas

Are you using the block, or the entire engine? Block is no different at all, except the tap above the oil filter for the 93 oil pressure sensor will have a plug in it, and you will have a hole on the top of the block, behind the intake manifold, that is open for the 94-97 oil pressure sensor.

If you are using a complete 94 engine, you will have issues like the fuel rail connection differences. You would have to swap your exhaust manifolds, since the AIR/EGR connections are different. Also have to swap the throttle body, since they are different, including the TPS.

Just The Block And Nothing Else But Will All The Pulleys Line Up The Same And All That. And For The Hole Is There A Way To Block That?????? Thomas

I suspect you take the "pipe plug" out of the hole over the filter, and put it into the hole on the top of the block. They are standard threads, and you acn use a pipe plug.

The accessory drive/brackets should all be the same. The AIR pump mount is different, because the 94+ mounts the pump on the block, and I think the 93 mounts it to the body.

ok well thanks for the help it looks like i will try to use the 94 block i dont think thatstuff will be too much of a problem. thomas
