94 Forumla problem.

I have a 94 formula with about 83K miles and an automatic tranny. Whenever I put the car in gear it jerks back and forth like it wants to go forward. But once I give it gas it is fine. It doesn't do this in neutral or park. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Man that sounds like a weird one. Have you checked your trans fuild? Could be a torque convertor issue too.

Are you on the brakes when this happens?

Then it sounds like you have brake problems. Might have air in the system, so have them check and bleed.

Re: 94 Forumla problem.

When you put it in neutral, it's not making a forward motion, so it takes less energy to stop the car. Instead of it being in gear.

The forward thrust being created by the engaged tranny is virtually non-existant compared to the momentum of the moving car. This definately sounds like a tranny problem... Sorry I dont know too much about autos.
