None to my knowledge.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

To my knowledge the only differences in any LT1 blocks are the "Baby LT1" 265 ci (4.#L came w. caprices & buicks) and the four bolts that came with the vettes and 97 camaro SS/LT4s.

Thats the quick off the top of my head version. Is that what you were asking?

Nothing, they all have the same part number, the only difference is one could be a 2 bolt, one could be a 4 bolt main. Lt-4 was 4 bolt main, as well as all Vette motors. But they are all the same part number, 327.

So I could use the crank, timing cover,(etc...) out of a 94 or 95 in a 96 block with NO problems?

I'm sorry I was only referring to the block.

Definately not the timing cover. The key in the crank snout changed as well.

Check this out

The cranks are the same. Just the crank key is different.

Some bad info above.....

ALL 1995 F-Body LT1's are OBD-I. There are NO 1995 F-Bodys that are OBD-II (irrelavant when discussing only a short block).

The PM rods were first introduced in mid-94 model year.... not in 1996. My late-94 had the PM rods.

Here is the situation:

I have a 94 LT1, I blew a head gasket and I have 184k on the engine so I wanted to rebuild it.

I got a 95 short block already bored over(.30) with fordged TRW pistons, crank, timing chain/cover and a lt4 hotcam. But a cyl rusted too much to be cleaned by just being honed.

Now I have 96 block with a crank, blower cam, and timing chain/cover(with sensor).

Can I place the 96 rebuilt with the TRW pistons, the 96timingchain/cover, LT4hotcam,and 96crank with no problem installing the engine along with the optispark, wires, etc?

My mistake.. All 95 years came with a vented opti.. Hence a vented timing chain cover..

Aren't the rods out of 96-97 rods consider "PM" rods? Powder Metal...

Should not be a problem unless ya got big domes or flattops that brings the compression up to much with your stock heads.
Ya need to figure your compression and DCR with your cam. 9.0DCR is max.

Now I have also heard conflicting stories that my Opti(non vented) will not fit on the 95 or 96 timing cover is that true?
