I'm getting some 3.42's for stock 2.73 rear end, so I'm also going to get a 3 series carrier.
I'm gonna get the trany (A4) built this spring.

Question is: If i replace the speedo gears in the tranny when its rebuilt, and get the new gears put in, will the stock shift points be reatined? and everything will be fine?

Also: Should I get the gears put in first, or get the tranny and speedo gears changed first?

Anybody know the part #'s for speedo gears --3.42 rear end in 93 A4?

The stock shift points will not be changed. It will all be fine I've been through this, I don't know the part # though, I got 3.73's.
