Help me make a decision on what wheels and tires to buy for the track..

Here are some of the choices I have come up with:

1. Weld Draglights 15x3.5 Front and 15x8 with 5.5 backspacing $540. Futura 16R15 upfront for $60, and Mickey Thompson E.T. Streets 26x10.5x15 $350. These are all brand new.

2. I already have pretty new 245/50/16 Nitto 555R's. I could get all thats listed above except go with a 16x8 but it would only have a 4.5 backspacing. This would save me $350 since I would not have to buy the E.T. Streets. But then again it wont have the same"hook-up" the E.T. Streets could provide.

3. Anyone else?

Thanks

Please dont move this thread since it was in the drag racing forum and not a soul looked at it for over 5 hours. Just looking for some help.

I feel that your choices are probably the cheapest way of accomplishing your goals.

Your also going to need to purchase spacers for the fronts, longer studs all around and long lug shank style nuts. You will also need to grind the calipers fins on the rears a bit to get the rims to fit, possibly touch up the front rims also.

Keep in mind that your front tire isn't rated for high speeds...not sure if this is a concern for you. I would reconsider the B/S on the rim that your choosing as they will sit near the fender lips and if your lowered you may have problems with the tire rubbing. I would reconsider your rear rim width as your limiting yourself to tire size if you wanted to go wider later down the road.

For a little more money, your can open up many possibilities with purchasing Bogart rims. These are lighter, no spacers are needed, nor are longer studs or the need to grind your calipers as with the welds. There is also a much greater choice of rim styles to choose from. You would also be purchasing a show car quality rim. It's really hard to compare the two rims as its apples to oranges.

I headed up the Bogart program and worked with Bogart for F-bodies back in October of last year. To date, many of the guys are now seeing the possibility of these rims and some of the big name and up and comng guys like George Baxter, Joe Overton and many more. You can view many of the styles on my site listed below as well as contact information.

Email me if you have any other questions regarding the Bogart
line.
