93 Knock sensor?

i did a search but didnt really see what i am looking for. On my 93 Z i am looking to put a lt4 knock module on it, but what i have seen said they are for 94-97. Does the 93 with speed density have a different module or what. Also is there a good place to get one besides Ebay.

Re: 93 Knock sensor?

The 93 use a different type of engine management. It uses an ECM with a removable "chip". This style doesn't have a knock module. If I remember correctly the knock sensor functions are programmed in a 93.The knock modules are for the 94+ PCM. The PCM is flash programmed and the knock module cuts down on the PCMs reading of false knock.
