I am about to buy a 93 z28 and can't find any computer upgrades for it. Does it have the 105mph govener like the later models and who makes a chip or something to eliminate the govener? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

 

If you get one with a 115 speedometer, then it will be limited to 108ish. If you get one with a 150 speedo, it will be limited to 255 MPH. (aka no limiter)

Hypertech makes two styles of chips for the 93:

Street Runner Chip:
Used mainly for stock motors to have better wide open throttle response.

Thermomaster Chip:
Used for moderately modified motors with low restriction exhaust, and should be used with a 160 degree thermostat.

Thanks for the help guys. I am not sure what kind of speedometer it has but i think it might be a 150mph. If i do not have the govener on what kind of top speed would an automatic with an Lt-1 have?
