93 balancer, No key, shed some light?

Why does my buddie's 93 Z have a notch on the hub for a key, but the balancer doesn't have one. It's back on and torqued to spec of I believe 98 ft.lbs but we're concerned with slippage. Pretty much stock, how much hp will this balancer without a key hold? Any ways to modify without buying a new hub and balancer?

Thanks.

all LT1's are made that way. you can buy a keyed hub from www.thunderracing.com but i wouldnt worry about it unless your making serious HP or have forced induction.
