700r4 in 93' Camaro?

Hey guys, I am pretty sure that the 93 camaro's with come with the 4l60 tranny, will a 700r4 work with a 93'? If not what modifications would have to be made? Or will it work. Thanks

Patrick

4L60 and 700R4 are the same tranny in the 93's, a 4L60 is a non-electronic 4L60E.

A '93 F-body has lockup (TCC) wiring that is different from any other 700/4L60. You'll notice that the '93 F-body transmission has a ROUND electrical plug in the case. All previous 700/4L60 transmissions had SQUARE plugs. To make an earlier 700 work in a '93 F-body, you'll more than likely have to change the wiring inside the transmission. Unfortunately most late 700's don't have all the holes tapped in the valvebody for the switches that the '93 unit uses, so you'll have to change the valvebody and seperator plate also. Be aware that '93 units use a different seperator plate than previous 700's because they take an extra checkball in the valvebody.
