I just noticed I put 7 quarts in my new Canton pan and it calls for 6. Is that going to do any damage?

What does the dipstick say? Is the filter full?

Guys have had oil pressure problems over filling their aftermarket pans. Javier is the one who ended up running 5.5 quarts in his Milodon 30909 pan if I remember correctly. If I were you I'd get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and watch the pressure on a few WOT runs. Make your adjustments based on that.

I never used more than 6 qts with my Canton pan. If I did it would use oil. So I'm assuming it was burning it. The stock dipstick should read one qt low when you put 6 qts (full) in because the oil sits lower. I didn't add any oil until it showed 2 qts low on the factory dipstick.
