7/32 spacers Yes or No?

Will they work on stock studs? Reason im asking is I have Y2k rims with 65mm offset and Ive done the hammer the inner fender trick and removed the jounce spacers.

I test fitted 5/16 spacers on my wheels and I could only get 3-4 threads into the lugnuts. Not enough, IMO. ARP makes a 2 or 2 1/2 inch stud (don't remember which exactly) with the correct knurle (spelling?) for our cars for about $15 bucks for each set of 5.

its generally not a good idea to run spacers with stock studs. Also if you have america's tire co do you tire work, they wont do any work with spacers on a car

I'll measure one of the stock replacement studs I've got at home in the morning and get back to you.

If its only the rears you're talking about, I've read that the front studs are 1/4 inch longer than the rears so you can get a set of them and install them at the rear, then 7/32 spacers should fit without problems.

Why would the front studs be any longer than the rear studs?

Some are just longer than others. I think I must have been blessed with a complete set of rear studs.

If you have them why not just test fit them? Obviously, the nut needs to be fully engaged plus for safety. Even if they are long enough, an upgraded stud isn't a bad idea if you are using spacers. I am ok with spacers for the drag strip, I have some hesitation recommnding them for street use. When using them for racing, we check the torque after every run. Especially when using aluminum spacers.

I run the spacers with front skinnies at the track. No issues but I understand that if tech really checked they wouldn't pass me because of the thread engagement issue. I've got a set of extended studs that I bought from Ligenfelter, just haven't got off of my duff and installed them. BTW the extended studs will require that I modify my mag lug nuts, and it won't look pretty, but I really don't care. Either Shoebox or Injuneer has a picture of street mags with extended studs that are used on their car.

Mine look fine. I took a set of black plastic lug nut caps and cut out the closed end and painted the end of the stud. With the caps installed it looks just like any other lug nut with a black cap.

Pretty good idea. Are your lug nuts chrome though. Mine are, I guess I could look for some black anodized lug nuts, might actually look pretty good.

Hammer them out. Put the new ones in and use a sacrifical lug nut (with big washers in between) with an impact to pull the studs through. I had to remove my rear axles to put the ARP studs in-the fronts I just left the hub on. After you've driven it a few miles retorque the lug nuts a few times. I'd get new lug nuts too. My old lug nuts wouldn't thread all the way on the new studs freely (they had been stretched).
