58mm throttle body

how much ,or would it affect horsepower increase if I installed a 58mm tb on a stock lt1 intake, I plan on taking the intake off and porting it out for the 58 but not right now. The motor I have is a 355,11.6.1cr, stock tb, ported heads, 251cfm in. 2.00, 189cfm ex. 1.55, cc306 cam , 200hp dry n2o. basically will it hurt or help or stay as is until porting is done?

I would say, at first glance, that you would need a bigger tb. Is your car pulling vacuum at WOT?

Why put an oversize TB port on top of an undersized intake manifold port, and create a "shelf"?. The turbulence created by the shelf may hurt airflow and reduce it compared to the current throttle body. There is nothing to be gained by doing what you plan to do, maybe something to be lost.

I didn't even catch that part of his question.

Like Injuneer stated, don't install the tb unless you port match the intake.

I have a fixture I designed to machine the LT intake venturas out-to 58mm. Also, we're I the same area (OKC) so I can help him out, if he wants the assistance. I've already PMed him.

....shifting off topic......

93 and 94 had the "Formula V8" stickers on the left front headlight and the right rear bumper. 95 and up just said "Formula".

.....back to topic.
