? about front hub

Alright, well the front hub/balancer, w/e you call it that goes onto the crank shaft. Does that have to be in a certain position. Because there was no deal for the key or nothing on it and the key doesnt stick up like i've seen on most engines. Will it hurt anything if it is turned differently?

there is no key way for the balancer to find a particular position. I usually look at the back of the balancer and you can usually see a rust outline of the hub. One of the three sides has a arrow/triangle. I've installed them anywhich way and have never had any issues, so I doubt you will.

It does not have to be in any particular position. The stock LT1 rotating assy. is internally balanced in the front and externally balanced in the rear via flywheel. Anyone who says it does is not correct. If the argument is brought up about how the "balancer" or damper has holes drilled in it those are there for the sake of the damper being zero balanced. The damper does not have a heavy side.
