Go for the 58...imo the 52 is pointless. You probably wouldnt notice much gain over stock with the 52.

The intake will need to be ported to run the 58mm TB.

It's up to you but your setup will never come close to out flowing a 52mm TB. The stocker flows about 650CFM and a 52mm will flow about 750-775CFM. Most people go too big in this area.

Re: 58 or 52 mm TB?

if you have your intake off just go for the 58
i did a swap on a 330 hp car on the dyno from a stock to 58 and it gained 10 hp all the way up the rpm band.
the intake was already ported for the 58

really your not going to run into loosing velocity with it so you really cant go too big.

as long as your intake is modded at the mouth go for the 58mm your engine can only ingest as much air as it needs weather you have a 52 or 58,going to a 58 also allows you to expand later rather than to try and sell old to move up.

What does a stock MAF flow? Because can't your TB only flow what your MAF flows? I have been looking into upgrading my TB too but was wondering if it was pointless if the MAF was still holding me back...

That's probably the best thing to do. If you have the intake off anyway and you have yet to buy either a 52 or 58, then you might as well go for the 58.

Keep in mind that a tune will be needed and the trittle tip-in may be a bit abrupt for your taste, but since it's port fuel injected you don't need to worry about vacuum signal like you do with a carb.
