4l60e Removal

Whats the best way to remove an automatic from a 94 trans am???

How much does a shop usual charge to remove a tranny and put a new one in???

If you are going to do it yourself I would jack it up first get it up at least 3 feet in the air jack stands out of the way of the working area.. drop the trans pan first to drain the fluid worst part of the job/put it back on or get a plug to put in the tail shaft.. take out the drive shaft /put a jack under the trans (use a block of wood to protect the pan)take out the 3 TC bolts/take off the crossmember/get to all the bellhousing bolts you can with it up then lower it down to get the rest/ there are 6 bell houing bolts you might have to remove the Ypipe depending on your setup.. pretty easy there is alot I left out that is not hard to figure out .. putting it back in you need to spin the convert on untill it slides all the way on the shaft .. I am sure there is a site on this somewhere
