Question 4L60E Question

hey guys...do any of yours car shift harshly when you place the lever in a forward gear like say when shifting out of park? mine always gives a fairly strong hit...my mounts are good and also my idle is not set too high. any tips would be appreciated.

Mine really lets you know when you go in reverse sometimes, it also does it in drive.

I beleive that the hard engaging is normal in 93-94 year camaro. In 95, they instaled what is called a PWM selonoid. This allows the tranny to go in to gear much smoother than previous cars. What your tranny is doing is normal.

If there has been a valve body kit installed, or if the accumulator circuit has a stuck piston or broken spring, it will then come on all at once. If it did it from the day the car was new, then it was miscalibrated. The PWM has nothing to do with this, it is for the torque converter when going into lockup, which it never does completely (lockup that is) because of the PWM. Trans-Go has a valve (comes in their Shift Kits) that eliminates the PWM, even in the remans, so now when the TC goes into lockup it locksup, less torque converter replacement due to the lockup clutch wearing out prematurely. When going to the 9.5" Vigilante for instance, he will recommend the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit (partly because of this valve).

Sorry to bust your thread.

Hey, Pro-Built. I have installed a Vig 3200 and have some problems when kicking down at WOT around 55-70MPH. The tranny feels slushy for a second, then feels like it "locks up" and the car starts to move well. Will the Transgo Shiftkit cure this problem? Which kit to get? Thanks heaps.

Are you saying it goes into a false neutral condition between the shifts?, a delayed response?, or it downshifts very slowly?

Downshift

I can feel it downshift, but it sounds like there's just slipping and the car only moves slightly faster, then something happens (feels like something engages) and the car starts to actually move like it should. It's almost like it's going down to a lower gear the second time, but at 65MPH, I don't think it can go into any gear other than drive.
