gas milage

I was just curious on my gas milage and if it is good or bad. I read a post on this subject and some guys were getting 200-220 a tank, is that normal? I am only getting an average of 170-185 a tank. I ve only broke 200 maybe once. Is it my car? Is it my driving? thanks

For ur mods u should be getting maybe one or two miles per gallon more. But don't forget, every engine is a little different. When I was at ur mod range i was still getting 220. Now I'm down to 130 miles per tank. I would get ur AFR checked.

Air/Fuel Ratio. With a wideband sensor and a data logger, u could check to see if u r running too rich.

130 per tank??? Was it the hotcam? I get about 15mpg city 23 hwy with the mods below. I have a hotcam on the way . But will it really kill my gas milage that much?

YES and NO

I still have yet tog et my car programmed, (As u can see in the sig ) And I am running waaaay too rich, which is how some PCMs react to the Hot Cam install. I definitely recommend the Hot Cam kit with high regard. HOWEVER, make sure u have some money so u can do programming after u get the kit. It will help not only gas mileage, but brake vacuum, throttle response, and AFR.

If you do a lot of city driving that's not bad. I've only been getting 180 - 200 miles before I fill up my tank these past few weeks, normally I'm 220+. I think my low mileage is because most of the time I drive my car now, it's only a 5-10 minute trip and several of those minutes are still in open loop.

I get around 27MPG straight highway and 19mpg mixed highway/city including me abusing it. I would say 180 miles to a full tank is not good and you might want to hook up a scan tool and see what it looks like

I agree, that seems a little low. Today i filled up with a quarter tank left. I got 258 miles with 3/4 of a tank of gas

I think you should get more than that with those mods. I get about 280 with lots of city driving and mostly highway, around 330, you can see my mods on my sig. Nothing motor, just SLP CAI and dynomax bullet.

I get 190 city/ some hwy driving mostly city though & I have yet to tune my car for good drivability & running slightly rich, school is getting in the way of perfecting my VE tables plus I noticed that with my MAF descreened my milage dropped, I'm now getting 190 per tank, but the last time my maf was screen was when I was stock, but when I was stock screeened/descreened made a difference in about 40 miles per tank consistantly, I'm gonna try putting the maf back on with my mods now & tune some more this weekend hopefully (have another car to mod) & see what happens, but so far my gas milage is still better than 185, check your o2's, egr maybe be bad causing vacume leak which offsets the MAF & gets you bad milage aswell.
