I honestly don't see any issue with running a supercharger. Also the OP said he was looking for XXX rwhp and it to be streetable, not a track car. What are you referring to when you say heating issues? Overheating, IAT's, heat soak, all of the above?

Overheating. As mentioned I've know of a couple who removed the supercharger so they could run air in the summer. If you stop and think about it....It's like running two air conditionairs at the same time only worse. It heats up the intake temp.

don't let anyone tell you you cant do it, cuz it can be done, with the right parts and the proper tuning 450 is possible and streetable. everyone always see's that typical le3 package is the most power you will get, not true. there is always power to be had, just depends on how much in depth you want to go with it. Some of you are crazy though, saying that a h/c supercharger will get you 450rwhp, in reality it would be around 500rwhp, but numbers are just numbers, ill take the 400rwhp car that runs 11s over the 420rwhp car that runs 12s any day.

crazy I might be, but I stated that it would meet his goals (minus budget, of course)...I never said it would exceed it

I agree with the hp/et argument...but that has way more to do with driving and set-up than hp in and of itself.

Ok, wasn't sure if you were talking about track performance or what. I can see that when running FMIC, makes sense.

I looked at Advanced Induction's website and they make some pretty high hp claims on there head/cam/intake packages and say they are daily drivable. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I just reread the original post which is looking for a heads and cam package assuming all the necessary other ingredients to go with the package wanting to make 450rwhp on a stock block and still have good drivability.

Ain’t going to happen unless you go the forced induction route or go the stroker route. Regardless of what you see posted, most Ltx stroker motors do not make more than 420-430 rwhp. Most heads and cam stock block cars have a difficult time breaking 400 rwhp but some will make in the same range as the stroker motors but have significantly less torque.

Not saying superchargers don’t work because they do, but there are compromises as they by nature will run hotter and to get into the higher hp range you need forged pistons. Can’t tell you how many people in the early days tore up Ltx pistons trying to run more than 5.5 to 6 lbs of boost on stock pistons. Don’t remember the exact dyno numbers but breaking 450rwhp on a stock block with less than 6lbs of boost I think may even be difficult.

I’d just get a good heads n cam package with a good set of headers n exhaust and settle for about 400 rwhp. In a C4, a decent driver with good tires…….. that will get ya into the 11’s and one fun ride.

What do you specifically want to know?

its been done with a stock bottom end and ported lt1 castings. Highest number he posted on the net was 440 rwhp...after some tweeking it made 452 rwhp. Loook up SAR2K and look at the threads he started.
