To run twelves... you think i'll need a Spec 4? Or stick with the Spec 3 which was already planned... I heard the Spec is overkill and could actually lessen the longevity of the clutch due to its lack of power.

Your going way overkill here buddy. To run high 12's you dont have to do too much to your car. You would only need like a spec stage 2. 350 about hp at the wheels in a m6 will get you high - mid 12's any day. You dont need a 12 bolt for that little hp unless you do holeshots all the time and drive like an idiot.

Easiest mods, exhaust, CAI, Pullies, thermo, heads and cam. That should be plenty depending one what heads and cam you get.

So you want to stay clear of heads/cam, you dont want nitrous, dont want to do turbo or supercharge because they will both cost at least $5k. So how exactly are you trying to accomplish this? I guess you have to do all bolt ons which will end up costing you more then the head an cam packages out there.

Longtubes, ory, catback, underdrive pulley, gears, cold air intake, programming, drag radials, subframes, a good clutch, and a good driver = high 12 low 13 second pass!

also you should first decide how much money you have to spend before you start talking about how much power you wanna make, and for that matter, you should decide on how fast you wanna go, not how much power you wanna make, unless you want to be a dyno queen. the mods above are still going to run you about 2000+ bucks. not trying to discourage you just letting you know that is always more expensive then you think.

Ok... Maybe Heads and Cam does sound pretty nice... :-) I didn't think for 2k you can get a good set of matching heads/cam. I guess I can save the question "Whats a good matching heads/cam/intake" combo out there for running low 12's... I know I said mid, but if I'm gonna do it, i'm going to do it right!! L0L

Well i think he best heads out there are TPIS/AFR heads. TPIS takes Air Flow Reasearch heads and ports them even more. They are 1889.95 and a matching cam would be like another $250 ish. www.tpis.com

How aggressive is the cc306 cam? Why is it aggressive anyway? Is it bad for daily driving?

Whats a good match for that cam?

If it is that hard of a decision, maybe just trade the LT1 in for an LS1 and some ET streets!

Just a thought!

If 370 isn't possible without any of those, then I guess it'll be put on hold until further notice.

By the way, its a M6 and at the wheels, not crank.

You think running mid/high 12's needs a stronger rear? I won't be launching like crazy, but i'll do lots of roll races. But assume I do launch a lot and do burnouts... still think I need a stronger rear to run mid/high 12's?
youre defeating all purposes..you dont want this and dont want that but want to run good numbers. you've gotta fall on one side of the fence. just get a nitrous kit and a 12 bolt and exhaust and haul a$$

if you want to run 12's with an M6, you need one of 2 things PERIOD....
either lots of power to make up for the lack of traction (Supra style)
or a 12bolt with stickies to get the traction with less power (real racing)

IMO, forget about all the "big" power mods right now and buy a 12bolt with 4.10 gears and do all the normal boltons (headers etc etc.), learn to launch the car with sticky tires and get yourself into the high 12's or 13 teens that way

roll ricing (pun) is cool but ET'ing is MUCH more fun, especially the launch

Maybe you should buy a car first?
