Well another opti has died on me, this is 4 in 4 years and I not about to spend another 250 on such a poorly designed unit. I have always considered changing to coil packs but this was the final straw. I would like some write ups on what is needed to do the swap. I would like to know about how much it will run me, and how difficult a swap it is.

I think the death of the opti is caused by the way you have the opti ventilation lines wired up.

It appears that prochargers are the root of the death of many optisparks. This last time I decided to set it up more like stock in an effort to have the proper flow of air throught the unit and prevent excessive pressure differences. I wish I could recall all of the particulars of how I did it this time.

All I know is the way they recommeded I hook up the vent line on the p1sc/twins seemed to cause a vacuum buildup that caused the screw heads holding the pickupwheel to shear off. I think I had pure vacuum building up. Of course this would just suck moisture into the unit and caue optical and electrical problems
