4.8 of Knock Retard?

Well i was with my friend last night and i decided to hook up my obd-2 scanner to see how my car was running. It was feeling sort of funny up top. So i decided to do 3 wot runs. From a 15mph roll to 100. The first time it showed 2.6 of KR. The highest it got was 4.8. What do you think could be causing this. I have a lt4 knock module on the way. Do you think it could just be false knock? I don't have headers or a cam so i don't think it could be false knock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the LT4 module is on the way, then I would try that first. I was seeing 18* of knock retard! The LT4 module cleared that up, one of the best $35 I've ever spent!

Do you think it could of been real knock? Or does the lt1 knock module detect a lot of false knock. Also how much hp do you think you loose with 5* of knock retard?

What kind of gas are you running? Brand, octaine etc.

I go to am/pm. It is 91 octane. Which is the highest over here in california.

HMMM? I'd try some 100 octaine unleaded, and see what happens then. If it goes away, chances are it's real knock. If it's still there then maybe the lt4 km may help. But I wouldn't put the lt4 in until you verify wheather it's real or not. There is no reason you should be getting knock, (real or false) with your mods.

Well i'm not sure where i can get some of that. But how about if i throw 2 of the NOS race octane boosters. The ones that say for race use only. They say it will add anywhere from 4-7 octane. So 2 of those i will be around 99 - 105. That is if they work. What would cause real knock anyways? I believe i still have the stock fuel filter in the car. Could a dirty one cause this? The car has 53,000 on it.

dont bother with octane booster....when they claim +5 octane points it really gains you about .4.....a total waste of money

i dont think a fuel filter has anything to do with that
