I have a 96 SS with the following mods...

Granatelli Mass Air Flow Sensor
Denso Iridium Spark Plugs

LT4 Knock Module
MAC Headers w/ O.R. Y-Pipe

All of my friends are saying to go with 4.56 since i have the M6 but i need to know every1 elses opinion. Also what brand is the best to go with?

no
your friends dont know what they're talking about
unless you car is strictly drag racing only dont do it, and even if it is, i wouldn't.
4.10s at most is what I would do.

They would be hell of fun, but not good for performance.

1.) You will run out of gear so fast. 1st and 2nd probaby would be worthless.

2.) You wont be able to launch period.

3.) You will probably break your rear.

4.) Our Lt1 engines are not set up for it. Lti have a nice long broad torque curve that asks for a lower ratio gears.

4.10's should be enough, even then have a nice time trying to launch. We went from 4.10 to 3.73 on a hotcammed m6, dual exhaust, hookerlt's car. Even then they suck for lauching.

The only reason you would want to run that high of a gear is if you were racing on a tall tire/slick. I'de stick with a 3.73, and definately wouldnt go over 4.10.
