Anyone know if a 396 built with Eagle 4340 3D rods, and an eagle 4340 crank has to use a small base circle cam or if a cam like an XE 224/230 can be used? Bill

if i were you i would go to www.lt1tech.com and ask them.. or call a local motor place..

No it does not require a small base circle cam. At least my experience was with the use of a 5.875" rod with the 3.875" stroke crank.
