383 vs 396 LT1
Re: 383 vs 396 LT1
I went with teh 383 for two reasons. I didnt want to use hard block which is nec. due to haveing clearence the block for the rods/longer stroke more then for a 383. the other reason is, if I remember right, it was a bit more expensive for the longer crank and pistons? I think. goin by the std. CID/HP were not talkin alot of HP/Tq diff. either. anyone know the formula?

Re: 383 vs 396 LT1
the high compression is due to me shaving the heads to 50 cc's. compression = more power and i am going for a all out motor i dont care abot street manners
the hard block to me was something i would not have done without cause of the clearencing and for strength but i am also running a 300 shot and twisting it to 7800 rpms
biggest tip is scrap the cc306 and go straight to a custom solid roller
