383 Stroker Kit, is this good?

thats the kit. Is that a good bottom end kit? I was going to do a rebuild on my car either way. I was going to get a 350 rebuild from sealed power but this is the same price and comes with a crankshaft too. I don't plan on blowing or using nitro ox on my car. Just doing bottom end now and will eventually get port and polished heads along with a cam to match. But is this a good bottom end set up. Ive seen othjers for like $1100, so this makes me happy to see from like $560

You get what you pay for. I'm not so sure I'd spend my money on that.

your choice, those parts arent much better than stock, but if all you want is a 383 go for it.

A Scat crank is an improvement over stock. Silvolite pistons? Are those made by KB? I've never heard of Claimer pistons, but I'm a rookie at this stuff.

FWIW, I picked up a 383 Scat crank and Scat 4340 I-beams for about 350 plus shipping on ebay (brand new). "Dirt Track Thunder Motorsports" was the company, I believe.

Should be good enough for my low power level and low revs.

I have never heard of the claimer pistons either, as well as the hastings rings, or the durabond cam bearings.

If you get it i would recommend getting some cam bearings that you have heard of, unless you have heard of these, as well as rings you have heard of, unless you have heard of these, for a few more bucks, you can make it a better kit. Doesn't sound too bad, but the price is very nice!

You've never heard of Durabond cam bearings?!?

Claimer isn't a brand but rather a style of racing. Cheap stuff someone can "claim" or take from you.

I'm going with SRP inverse dome forged pistons, Scat 4340 Forged I-beam 6" rods, and a Scat 9000 crank.

Look up scatstroker@hotmail.com for a price on a rotating assembly, he should be able to get you a pretty good price. You can let him know I sent you to him if you'd like.

DO NOT GET THIS KIT! My father got one for me for christmas(exact kit) and they sent thier "LT-1" kit which consisted of solid lifters, cam that dosnt work on lt1, timing chain set that dosnt work and a bunch of other crap that basically is just a box filler. When we wrote and e-mail to them about thier product we got back a smart-"butt" answer which really ticked me off. If i could do it again i would get forged rods adn crank and buy all my other stuff seperate. BTW i had to buy a $700 hotcam kit and pay b/s shop fees to have this assembly balanced. Take my word for it, YOU GET WHAT U PAY FOR!

Nice budget set-up. Mine is similar except I went with a 4340 crank and forged h-beam rods. I got mine from Sallee Chevrolet in OR.
