Can we assume you have a 1996 LT1 Camaro, from your screen name? If so, I'll move this to "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech". There are numerous posts there regarding the requirements for building a stroker motor.

Briefly, in order to take advantage of the increased displacement, you need a new "top end" including better flowing heads and a more aggressive cam. Larger injectors, upgraded exhaust, larger throttle body, etc.... would all be required as well, to realize the maximum advantage of the stroker. I've seen a 383 LT1 make anywhere from 375 - 1,125HP (blown)..... how much do you want? What is your budget?

If everything else remains the same the 383 will makes the same peak power a couple of hundred rpm lower and gain maybe 30-40lb-ft of torque in the midrange. It will be a little bit quicker but not substaniitally so. If you need to rebuild because the old motor is worn out, a 383 is basically teeh same cost as a new 350 rotating assembly (if similar quality parts are used) so it may make sense. You can always upgrade the top end later. But if you have a decent running motor and are looking for more performance, put it into the top end now.
