Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
Shouldn't be that hard to make the power you are looking for, depending on how well the heads are done. With ported LT4 head/intake and VERY mild solid roller (230/242 114LSA .590.590 - selected to pass NJ rolling emissions) my 381 (10.8:1 CR) made 425rwHP through an M6/Street Twin/12-bolt drivetrain. And that's an engine designed for max N2O use, which does pull down the NA HP. It runs 11.5@117 on motor, although that was after conversion to a TH400/high stall/non-locking convertor (reduced rwHP to 390).
You are aware that the Trick Flows require work, because of the 62cc combustion chambers? You also need to be aware that the TFS .......007 heads are NOT for LT1's. You need the TFS ......010 assembled LT1 heads. Unless of course you are going to have the SBC Gen 1 heads converted for the LT1's reverse flow cooling.

422 on a stock rear or possibly a moser or 9"?? I am just trying to get an idea based on drive train loss, thanks

Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
With such a modest power goal, don't run an aftermarket head unless you want to run a small cam and keep stock-like driveability.
380rwhp is nothing special. You don't even need "extras" like a monoblade, LTs, compression, and other tricks.

Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
It really is a modest power goal. One thing that we need to know to determine exactly what you need is info on your drivetrain. With an M6, 380rwHP will take 437HP at the flywheel. With a 4L60E, you'll need to make about 460HP at the flywheel.
To see how little it will really cost to make that kind of power, using much less expensive parts than you are talking about, go to the Lloyd Elliot site and look at his BASIC (LE1) head porting and cam package.... 390rwHP with a 350, M6 and the usual add ons.
http://www.eportworks.com/LT1LE1.htm
Absolutely no need for expensive aftermarket heads, the space issues of the Super Ram (unless you are looking for all low end torque and not so much for peak HP at high RPM), no need for a solid roller cam (if that's what you mean by "SR") or even a 383. The Lingenfelter 219/219 cam is going to be very mild in a 383.
Might want to rethink your goals.

Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
U want to know all my drivetrain mods, O.K.
1988 Corvette, 4+3 tranny, 3.07 gears(which are perfect for a SR).
D44 rearend(Can handle alot of power).
I posted this in the LT-1 section because I knew alot of you guys do 383's, and some do SR as well, So i thought you guys might help me out.
Raceweight is roughly 3450, My goals are to run high 11's or low 12's! But I do want to trap at 117-119 MPH, N/A of course. I do not want any power adder's, I want to do this N/A. From what I hear I need to be around 380rwhp-400rwhp, and since I am using the SR, I would expect around 420RWTQ.
I am going to use the TFS-30400007 heads, Out of the box they flowed 260/185 at .550 lift right up threw .600 lift. I did buy the LPE cam, but I dont know if that will get me to the power gains. Alot of Vette guys use that cam and get great success, It is a 219/219 .560/.560 lift with 1.6's.
Thanks alot guys, Hope you can steer me in the right direction. Right now the car runs 13.7's@101 with a 1.99 60 foot with the stock untouched TPI L-98, Only mods being exhaust.
Rick.

Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
Its for an '88/Gen 1 SBC.... OK. Rip up my "LT1" responses and throw them away.
Really not a good idea to do what you did - post on the wrong forum intentionally, and not give all the info up front. In effect, a lot of us wasted our time giving you totally incorrect and useless answers.

sorry man, i posted on the L-98 with not many good reply's.....
i used the same post and brought it over to this section, and forgot to tell you guys this was for a L-98 based motor. reason i did post in here, was because i wanted to see if guys were making good power with a superram.
my bad. i appolgize, and the info was getting good as well.......

i find there is way more info over here, and you guys know your stuff.

Re: 383 SR set-ups, Anyone?
Well, I know this is the Lt1 section and all but in case you want to know. The super ram works really well actually. Back in the haydays when I had a tpi I've seen some very quick tpi cars using the super ram. 383's running 11's and such. For a tpi you only really have 3 choices, intake wise, the super ram, tpis intake, or the stock type runners. It all depends on what you want. I'm not sure what cams tpi's are running these days, but back then they ran alot of short duration cams. They worked very well for all around performance. HTH

You DO NOT move a thread to the wrong board just because you don't get answers on the right board.
If you want to continue arguing about this, do NOT do it in this thread.... that is not acceptable either. You've sent me 2 PM's already on this, and its getting very tiresome.
Strike 2.... want to go for 3?

hey no problem, i have been a member for 6 years with no problems as of yet with anyone.....lock the thread then. i simple wanted to know if anyone had any 383's with Superram intake's on them, and what power they were making.
